Lauren Maggio is a professor of medicine and the associate director of scholarly communication for the Center for Health Professions Education at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in the United States. Lauren’s research blends her backgrounds in information science and health professions education to explore how to effectively connect physicians, learners, and patients with biomedical information through the design of educational interventions and technical solutions, and by facilitating access to knowledge for public and professional use. Lauren’s interests overlap with the ScholCommLab on several topics, including metrics literacies, open access and open science, preprint uptake, and science communication.
