Lucía Céspedes is a research assistant at the ScholCommLab, where she is working on a project with Lauren Maggio on the physicians’ use of social media to combat health misinformation online. She recently completed her PhD in Latin American Social Studies at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC), Argentina. Lucía’s doctoral research brought together sociolinguistics, social studies of science and technology, and scholarly communication, in order to analyze conditions of production and circulation of scientific knowledge in centres and peripheries. She is also the recipient of a doctoral grant from the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET).

Lucía is an Assistant Professor at UNC’s School of Law, teaching Academic Writing at undergraduate and graduate level. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication and a postgraduate Specialization in Public Communication of Science and Science Journalism from UNC. Lucía is also a member of the Red de Pensamiento Latinoamericano en Ciencia, Tecnología y Sociedad (Red PLACTS), as well as part of the Editorial Committee of the journal Ciencia, Tecnología y Política.
